For our final activity, we focused on sustainability by giving old materials a new purpose. Parents contributed by donating clean, used t-shirts, which we transformed into eco-friendly tote bags. The children actively took part in this process—not only helping to decorate the bags with their own creative designs, but also learning first-hand how recycling and upcycling can reduce waste.
To extend the impact beyond our school, the children set up a booth outside the school grounds. There, they proudly promoted the message of sustainability to the wider community, inviting members of the public to take a tote bag and put it to good use in their daily lives. This simple but meaningful act encouraged others to reduce their reliance on plastic bags, while also empowering the children to see themselves as advocates for positive environmental change.
