On 23 April 2022, our centre embarked on our SSDB journey with the theme “Caring for the People Around and the Environment”. Our SSDB launch was conducted virtually via Zoom for our K1 and K2 children and parents. Since Earth Day was nearing, we decided to celebrate it as well during our launch.
Prior to the launch, each child brought home an Earth Day kit which consisted of different types of recyclables collected by our centre.
We started our launch by introducing SSDB to them and what it is all about.
We also shared with them the activities that the children will be doing that are related to our SSDB theme.
Then, we played a game where parents and children had to build something using the materials in the Earth Day kit.
After building, they shared what they have built with the rest. Everyone did a great job building using recycled materials! The event ended on a positive note as everyone played their part in showing care for the environment through recycling.
