Meeting Oscar, the Food Safety Otter

One of the ideas that the K1s and K2s came up with was to hold a baking sale. “We can get money to give to Dorcas Home Care Service to buy food for the elderly!”

So, we embarked on educating the children on food safety. Partnering with Singapore Food Agency, we utilised the resources given in the package to share with the children how and why we need to be careful in handling our food.

“We wash our hands before we eat.” - Teck Ric, K1

“We put our food in the fridge so that it will not spoil too fast.” - Eleora, K2

“We check the (expiry) date when we buy milk or bread.” - Jaydrien, K2

The children learnt quite abit on food safety and went home to check the dates on the food packaging.

“What are we going to bake?” “When is it?” they asked.

Till the next post!
