Our K1 and K2 children extended their learning on Deforestation by looking into the lives of animals. After conducting brainstorm activities, children decided to work on the animal, “Panda”. “Pandas need green plants and we cannot destroy their home and their families” were the common response from the children.
Thereafter, children’s curiosity was stirred by engaging them in a Video talk. Children saw how Pandas live their lives in the forest which is full of greenery. Through games, children identified the Pandas diet.
To witness the lifestyle of a Panda, children visited the River Wonders and took a look at how they spend their days. Children identified that Pandas are alone, and they are in need of friendships and a beautiful home. Back in school, children came to a conclusion to create a Panda family and build a home for them. Hence, K1 and K2 parents were invited to work along with their child to create a Panda using recyclables in also worked towards Sustainability.
The end products were brought back to school and displayed at their classroom for children to revisit.
