It was indeed a remarkable yet a fruitful experience especially during this unforeseen times for us teachers and our K1 children.
Finally we completed our project with a grace not the bang that we expected as lots of changes and replanning were made as we embarked on our project.
We got children to brainstorm on what they can do to give back to the community.
In light of the fight against Covid-19, we decided to create a care package and dedicated it to the frontline workers.
To show our support and appreciation for what they have and been doing relentlessly.
As a contribution from our school, our staff pooled their resources and got mugs.
Children and their parents donated each a bag of apples. Afterwhich, keeping hygiene in mind, the children took turns to place the apples on the mug and wrapped it individually. Teachers stepped in to help in the wrapping process.
Then we sealed it with personalized notes and drawings on a canvas from our little artist.
As much as we desired for our children to follow and personally hand over the hampers to the respective places such as the polyclinics, clinics and police station, but due to Covid, teachers took on the role and did the remarkable duty on their behalf.
First stop, our neighborhood clinic.
Not forgetting we had to maintain our social distancing!
Second stop our Pasir Ris Polyclinic. The director and nurse manager were so touched as they looked at our hampers while our Principal explained to them our project.

Obviously we couldn’t forget our policemen for standing by their duties as they did their part against this invisible virus, keeping the order and sanity of the society.
