ART with A HEART
ART with a HEART. As we fight against a pandemic this year, our teachers brought to our attention that there is a group of children who are unwell. They are more vulnerable now ...
Pat's Claymore centre is in the shopping district of Orchard, and yet it avoids the bustle by being located in a quieter back road. You can't but notice the spacious playground that supports Pat's philosophy of making learning fun, hands-on and intellectually challenging for the children. The school supports Singaporeans and expatriates living in the vicinity.
The centre is run by Lauren Tan. Lauraen has long experience in early childhood education. Her passion for working with children was kindled when as a studend she volunteered to help a church kindergarten. She looks for the same passion and love of children in the teachers working at this centre. Promoting creativity is another area where teachers excel, and you can see this in the colourful artwork created by the children.
Pat's Schoolhouse Claymore encourages parents to be an active participant in their child's development. The multicultural student and parent community enrich the school environment. Parents are eager participants in the events. A recent Mother's Day saw the fathers put up a surprise entertainment event for the mothers. The students also put up concerts for the parents.
Pat's Schoolhouse runs a unique bilingual curriculum where students are constantly exposed to English and Chinese languages throughout the day. This helps build up their proficiency in both languages.
