During our June Holiday project, the K1 children dived into deep discussions about the ecosystem. What it is, what is in it and it’s importance to each and everyone of us. As we dicuss this topic the children learnt different terminologies that they have recorded and even able to define by themselves. We also partnered with WOW Education International, under the NAC-AEP Programme to further enhance K1’s understanding of ecosystems. In this, they created their “Super Tree/ Singapore Ecosystem” using the technique of sculpting, creating super trees, flowers, and insects like lady bugs which were displayed in the class. This installation showcased how the K1 students understood what elements are in an ecosystem and how they interact to with each other.
