Tea with Gong Gong and Po Po

The K1 children wanted to select a song that most Gong Gongs and Po Pos would like and that it resonated their feeling for this pioneer generation of our nation. And so at long last, “The Moon Represents My Heart” by Theresa Teng was shortlisted.

The 5 days seemed eternity to the K1s though their hands were full drawing invitations, delivering the cards, colouring the banner… etc. On the 9th of June, the Friday afternoon tea with Gong Gongs and Po Pos, the K1 mingled well with them. They warmed the latter’s souls with their hearts’ voices sung in Theresa’s hit song. Two elderly let their hair down as they came forward to participate in a “Dancong Queen” dance with the teachers. For the rest of them, consciousness and aching legs held them back to their seats.

The 60 minutes of sweet fellowship passed without notice and reluctantly, we bid farewell to our Gong Gongs and Po Pos and suggested that they could preserve the wonderful memories with many photos.
