SSDB Project - Preserved what's left?

A President’s Challenge Initiative

As a part of the SSDB 2017 theme, My First Skool Jurong West St 61 children were encourage to bring their favourite pet to school. Parents along with teachers participated in the launching event held on 3rd April 2017. Teachers, parents and together with their children talked about responsibility in caring for animals.

Teachers discussed about some endangered animals and how to prevent them from extinction. Parents talked about loving and caring for animals everywhere. Teacher prepared a display table for children to place their pet for a show and tell activity. During sharing time, children explained boa they have cared for their pet and what fold the animal feed on.

SSDB : Feeding and keeping animal safe

Pets were placed in classroom as mini exhibition. Children were allowed to feed and clean them for a day.

Some parents’ volunteers came along to share some tips in keeping pets safe and clean.

SSDB : Show and Tell on Pets

Children participated in the show and tell activity and share how they cared for their pet animals T home. They children talked Bout the characteristic of the animals and what they feed on daily at home.

SSDB : Pledge to protect animals

MFS JW4 Nursery children and parents dropped by to pledge against animal cruelty. Children did handprints pledging to care and love all animals and treat them as part of their living environment.
