Hello everyone! This is the first year, we are embarking on the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project!
We decided to show our appreciation for our grandparents, because grandparents are often the silent saviours for children, and yet their presence are not always celebrated!
As an introduction to the topic on ‘Grandparents’, the N2 children read a book titled “Grandparents” by Morgan Brody. Through the book, they learnt more about who grandparents are and some of the thing that grandparents can do with or for them. These activities included “cooking” and “playing together”. After the story was being read, children shared their own experiences with their grandparents. “Nenek (grandma) cook for me,” one of the children shared while another shared that “laolao (grandma) sometime fetch me from school”.
In the coming weeks, the children will be planning a craft activity they would like to do to show their appreciation for their grandparents! Stay tuned!
