How Do My Vegetables Grow?

19 August 2020 - TWO WEEKS LATER…

Gardening is a healthy, fun learning experience for children. They develop new skills and learn about science and nature from growing their own food.

The children were curious as to how tall the Bayam vegetables have grown after two weeks. Donning their bright orange bucket hats, the children scampered into the garden to observe the growth of the vegetables firsthand. They observed that the Bayam vegetables have more leaves and grown taller to the height of their palms. 😊

Back in the classroom, the children graphed the growth of the vegetables and drew pictures of the vegetables in their reflection journals.

26 August 2020 - THREE WEEKS LATER…

Children learn about the world by observing, exploring and interacting with its natural elements. Children are tactile and sensory learners. They love to breathe in the fresh air and scents of plants and flowers whenever they visit the garden.

With wonderment, the children observed how tall and strong the Bayam vegetables have grown after three weeks. Wow! Now the Bayam vegetables have grown as tall as their arms with many healthy leaves. The children practised patience as they waited for the vegetables to grow for another week before they are ready for harvest. 😋
