Cherie Hearts Kidz Campus @ Pasir Ris Elias Mall - Project : “Clean Table Campaign” from 26 February 2021 to 25 March 2021

In view of the current pandemic and with more people dining out in Phase 3, and given the pressing need to step up the cleanliness of public dining places the National Environment Agency has launched the Clean Tables Campaign on 6 February 2021 to nudge diners at public dining places to keep the tables clean, such as by disposing their used tissues and returning their trays and crockery after meals. These 3 key messages represent simple actionable steps that every patron can take, to be socially responsible and contribute to better personal and public hygiene standards at our public dining places.

NEA also invites schools to be part of the Clean Table Campaign by encouraging children to adopt these habits in schools and to share good practices with their families at home.

As part of the Clean Table Campaign, NEA has proposed two activities which schools can consider which are:

  1. Encourage students to design posters that advocate the 3 key messages and display them at the school
  • The 3 key messages are:

a. Keep the clean for next diner;

b. Clean your disposable crockery, tissues

and wipes; and

c. Return your trays and crockery.

2. Teach children how to fold an origami box to hold food scraps with used magazines and decorate the food scraps box.

“We have done our poster for “Clean Table Campaign” to remind our friends to keep the table clean.”

“Do you like to use a clean table or dirty table when you are dining out ?”

Children engaged in the poster creations.

“We return our tray and utensils after the meal.”

“I know how to fold an origami box to hold food scraps with the used magazine.”
