In appreciation to all the hard work that the construction workers and cleaners who been working earnestly and tirelessly since the start of building a new sanctuary for our church and a playground for our kindergarten……teachers, parents, children and staffs of Queenstown Good Shepherd Kindergarten have embarked on a journey to show how thankful and grateful we are towards them, ‘Our Unsung Heroes’ in our midst. To foster a stronger community spirit, we extended our appreciation to NParks cleaners and grass cutters who have been keeping our neighbourhood clean and green.
We started our journey by encouraging each family to contribute some canned food to bring to school. To make it a fun hands-on learning opportunity for the children, we suggested to parents to bring their child to the supermarket and let their child has some experience with the purchasing.
Children had fun hunting, matching and picking the items to match the items in the picture.
The response was overwhelming, parents contributed additional items to add into our bags of goodness. Parents were indeed very generous .
Next, we engaged our K1 and K2 artists to show their appreciation and thankfulness through their creative expressions.

With all the food items and Cards of Appreciation ready… we involved all our children to play their part to pack the bags of goodness. As we believe that children are never too young to give back to the community which is what Start Small Dream Big initiative is all about, we had children from the youngest age group, our PG children to join us in the packing.

We are greatly heartened by how parents, children, teachers and staffs to have come together to honour and recognise our unsung heroes who continue to work during this unprecedented times to battle against COVID-19.
It is indeed very heartwarming to know that people are coming forward to help even in a pandemic.
