A Kamishibai Story on Inclusivity - Andrew’s Uniqueness

Sunflower Preschool @ Frankel is honoured to collaborate with the National Library Board (NLB) for our SSDB project on Building A Digitally Inclusive Society.

Our N2 to K2 children were introduced to the Kamishibai storytelling and learnt more about the inclusive community through stories presented via Kamishibai. Introduced in Japan, Kamishibai is a form of publication for children created by authors and illustrators around 1930. It is presented on a wooden stage (butai). To present the story, the storyteller would slide each sheet of the story out and back again. The storyteller will face the audience as he/ she tells the story.

They embarked on a DIY Visual Storytelling to show their support towards inclusivity. The children discussed the story plot, designed the illustrations and presented the story titled ‘Andrew’s Uniqueness’ via Kamishibai storytelling.

Now, let’s enjoy the Kamishibai storytelling presented by our N2 to K2 children!
