‘Small seed of gratitude will produce a harvest of hope...’

We embarked the journey of our Start Small Dream Big Project by Planting the seed of love, kindness and compassion in our little ones wherein we introduced the value of care for others, humility, kindness and compassion. We discussed about the lesser privileged and how we can help the needy and give back to the society.

We brainstormed together and came up with the idea of growing our own plants and raising funds for the Seniors at the Sri Narayana Mission who needed care and how our small deed could help them…… It was a great moment of excitement when our little hands dug the soil to plant their own seed and nurtured it throughout the month and watch it grow. Their minds did not deviate from the purpose behind the hard work. Every time they watered the plant they were exhilarated about the thought of giving. They wanted to do more and we decided to paint and decorate the pots…. they took atmost care while painting the terracotta pots with their gentle hands.

Finally, we approached the finale of the project wherein we decided on a date of the plant sale and we were so happy to have our parents partnering with us and eagerly waiting to acknowledge the hard work by their children. As our little ones opened up their counters for plant sale, we were taken back by their kind generosity and appreciation by their parents for this noble cause. We were so pleased to see them taking their time off from work on a week day to support their child and school for this noble cause.

According to Dr. Montessori, age from 0 to 6 years is termed as “sensitive periods’ wherein it’s a phase or window in a child’s development when they are most capable of and responsive to absorb a certain skill or habit. This whole project gave us a feeling and a sense of satisfaction that we could ignite the feeling of love, kindness and compassion in out little ones….

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the parents and all those who supported toward this noble cause! Indeed it was a small start to give back to our society where we live in…..
